NASDDDS - Championing Person-Centered Systems and Community Inclusion

The National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS) is a leading organization in advancing public systems that serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the United States and its territories. Since its establishment, the NASDDDS has played a key role in shaping inclusive, person-centered systems of support that empower individuals with disabilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives within their communities.

The NASDDDS works to ensure that national policies reflect the values of inclusion, empowerment, and self-determination for people with disabilities. By promoting home and community-based services, the NASDDDS advances models of care that move beyond institutional settings, emphasizing community engagement and individualized support.

The NASDDDS represents state agencies, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, and Puerto Rico, providing vital services and support to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The association’s mission is to assist member states in building person-centered systems that uphold the rights, dignity, and independence of individuals with disabilities, while promoting community inclusion and equitable access to resources.
